VINO Y LUZ DE VELA - PART ONE

The light of over a dozen candles flickered in his hazel eyes as Todd entered the penthouse. Looking around he found himself annoyed by the cheerfulness of the dancing lights. ' What is she up to now?' Todd asked himself as he threw his jacket on the back of the chair near the door.
"Delgado!" he yelled while sitting down on the couch and propping his feet on the coffee table, "where are you?"
He saw something move out of the corner of his eye, looking up he saw Téa coming down the stairs. She was dressed in a long black silk lingerie; her brown hair draped over her shoulders and flowed down her back.
"I was wondering if you were coming home," she said seductively while walking into the kitchen. She returned with a bottle of wine.
"Would you like a glass?"
"No," Todd answered with a suspicious look on his face.
"Come on, one glass. You owe it to me for coming home so late."
"I don't owe you anything, and get rid of these candles. Why do you have them lit anyway?"
"I thought maybe we could spend some time together and maybe talk, that's all. You're always gone and I spend all my time alone," she said handing him a glass of the wine.
"I think you should go upstairs and change. You just never give up on this little seduction scheme."
"I can't believe you think I would do something like that." Téa said laughing to herself.
Téa sat down right beside Todd on the sofa. Todd drank his wine in one big gulp and moved as close to the side of the sofa as he could get.
"Would you like another glass?" Téa asked, and then got up, not waiting for an answer.
Todd sat staring, almost mesmerized by her beauty. Téa poured him another glass, walked back over to the sofa and handed him the glass. She sat down beside him again this time where he couldn't move away.
"Is there something wrong Todd?
Todd drank his wine quickly without saying anything.
"You are talking even less than usual."
Téa moved over to him to lean her head on his shoulder. She reached over to grab his hand when he jumped up off the sofa and got himself another drink. He didn't sit back down, just stood by the couch looking at her. Téa stood up and leaned over to whisper in his ear.
"I'm going upstairs to bed, you are welcome to join me."
Téa turned and began walking towards the stairs.
"Wait Téa," Todd called after her, " I thought you wanted to talk."
"I did, but now I want to go to bed," she said before climbing the stairs and disappearing into her bedroom.
Todd stood, staring up at the staircase, having trouble sorting out his thoughts. He was motionless for a minute or two before pouring another glass of wine, drinking it, then heading upstairs towards Téa's room.
Téa sat on the bed staring at the door wondering if Todd would be coming up. Then she saw his silhouette through the glass door just before he came stumbling into the room.
"We haven't finished talking," Todd said slowly in a deep voice.
Téa laid down on the bed and turned on her side with her back towards Todd
"What else is there to talk about?"
"I don't know, we'll come up with something."
Todd sat down on the bed and leaned against the headboard. He looked over at Téa, his thoughts all jumbled in his head, and began running his fingers over her back.
"I thought you wanted to talk?" Téa said sarcastically
"I did, but I just got a better idea," Todd said smiling
Téa sat up quickly and looked into his eyes as if searching for something.
"You're drunk," she said before lying back down on the bed
Todd grabbed her arms and once again brought her to a sitting position.
"What's your point?" he asked staring her right in the eyes
He put his hand on the back of her head and pulled her towards him. Their lips met hard, in a powerful, overwhelming kiss. All their built-up feelings and passions came to the surface. His lips slid off hers and down her neck. As he laid her back on the bed she pulled away from him.
"Wait," she said getting off the bed, " I need to take care of something first."
She walked towards the bathroom
"I'll be right back, don't go anywhere."
Todd sat up, looked at her passionately, and smiled.
"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere."
